This set of interactive activities from the Languages online resource introduces how to ask and say where one lives in Indonesian. Included in the activities are authentic social interactions for students to model from, a song based on Indonesian popular music for language consolidation and reference to key Indonesian cities as examples. Student activities include listening and responding, identifying missing target vocabulary, completing dialogues and doing a puzzle activity that revises previously learnt vocabulary and language structures. Instructions in English, immediate feedback and answers with translations are provided, as well as resources for teachers including printable activities and flashcards.

Educational value
  • This interactive learning resource is valuable for Indonesian language teaching and learning in mid-to-late primary years, and beginners in junior secondary years. It supports the Communicating and Understanding strands. It may be useful for the Reciprocating strand if supported by reflection on authentic resources facilitated by the teacher.
  • The resource models authentic greeting scenarios for talking about one's address and provides students with the opportunity to practise these.
  • Students' listening comprehension skills are tested.
  • A song with English translation is included to reinforce the language for asking and talking about one's address.
  • There is a puzzle that revises previously learnt vocabulary and language structures for introducing oneself.
